Site history
April 2001: first version
The very first version of this site went online at April the 16th, 2001. It was about ICP and Twiztid, and it had a crappy url: www.hallsofillusions.dhs.org. In the beginning HOI recieved like 100 visitors a month, but the site became more populair pretty quickly: in Feb 2002 HOI recieved over 1000 visitors.
May 2002: new version, new dot com
It was time for a new version of the site. On April the 15th, 2002 I started working on it. More sections were added (like Dark Lotus) and the site got a new dot com: HallsOfIllusions.com! And it was not longer a static html site, but it used the advanced Illusions Engine CMS by Dualdot. It was now very easy to maintain, and it was no longer a pain in the ass to update the news. This new version went online at May the 29th 2002. By that time HOI recieved over 1800 visitors a month.
November 2002: new layout, and a forum
In November 2002 the new blue layout replaced the oldschool black and grey layout. Also the forum was added that month. Realjuggalettes.net made HOI site of the moment, and that helped a LOT! HOI recieved over 10.000 visitors in november! In may only 1800 and 7 months later 10.000! WOW! In those 7 months the site got bigger and bigger, and more sections were added all the time.
Februari 2003: sections complete, new crewmember
At Februari 2003, all Psychopathic artists had their own section on Halls Of Illusions, a Sight of the Week was picked every week, and every week a new poll went online. We recieved OVER 20.000 UNIQUE visitors! The forum was doing great with about 80 members and some very good discussions. HOI even got it's second crewmember: JuggMister, to take care of the news.
March 2003: online shop
Juggalette Queens and Halls Of Illusions bundled their powers and started a combined webshop. Get your Juggalette and HOI gear by buying online!
April 2003: themes, new crewmembers, 25K milestone
At April 2003 HOI got it's third and fourth crewmembers: Krazedninjette, a news ninjette, and JuGGe, news ninja. Krazedninjette soon left the site, but JuGGe proved to be a very good addition to the site. Themes were added to HOI, and the forum got more and more members. HOI itself recieved 25.000 unique visitors.
May 2003: HOI radio, Miss HOI contest
The first Miss Halls Of Illusions contest began in may 2003, and it will be held every year. Maybe more important: the HOI radio started airing 24/7!
June 2003: new crewmember
Way Weird joined the Halls Of Illusions crew, after being a DJ for the HOI radio for some time. She now also posts news for all the los and lettes.
July 2003: new crewmember, Mister HOI contest, ads
Malkav became 'Behind the Scenes' ninja for HOI. He is in charge of the Juggalos and Juggalettes sections, and he is moderator on the forum. In july the Mister HOI 2003 contest begun, after Miss HOI was chosen. The advertising program started too.
August 2003: new crewmembers, WAP site, 30K milestone
Malkav left HOI, and Muddy_Vlad replaced him. Also Cartoon Nitemarez started as News Ninjette. At the end of August, the HOI WAP site went online for all the mobile phone users. You can read the latest news there and download logos and polyphone ringtones. August was also the first month to break the 30.000 unique visitors milestone. We got over 90.000 hits! |
